Isle of Forgotten Sins

My painting "Isle of Forgotten Sins" will be exhibited in the 20th Anniversary Members Collective Exhibition "Four Seasons" at Creative Macau from 18 August - 29 September 2023. “Isle of Forgotten Sins” (acrylic on canvas, 2022) is a painting I recently did inspired by the 1943 film directed by Edgar G. Ulmer. The film is set in the South Pacific and full of genre tropes around night life, crime and sunken treasures. Living in Macao all these years I’ve had to confront similar fictions and consider all the ‘forgotten sins’ that still haunt this little island archipelago.
