The Color of the Room plays with the relationship between everyday spaces and the infinite. Technically speaking, a virtual kaleidoscope was built using the Blender 3d animation program and it's shape was modified to distort different photographic images.

Musically, the piece is comprised of looped piano, synths, and sounds generated by a program called VirtualANS. This program is produced by Zolotov Alexander as an expression of the ideas of the famous Russian composer/pianist Alexandr Nicolaevitch Skryabin. Skryabin theorized a relationship between sound and color; so VirtualANS turns an image into a sound. Thus the sound of the piece is derived from the look and color of the room.
