Fall Gateway 2008 screening

The Fall 2008 Gateway class will present three screenings in Auditorium II of the Campus Library on both December 15th and December 16th.   The screening times are 12:30 – 14:00, 17:00 – 18:30, and 19:00 – 20:30.

The three films, Pursuit, Decade, and Endless Love are all a unique response to the theme of the “Fantastic in the Everyday.” Through fantastic stories of time travel and family dramas, these young filmmakers share their perspectives on everyday life in Macau.

Final Project

Ok class, here is your final project assignment. As referenced earlier, you need to come up with your own design for a Munny and the box design to go with it. To do this you will use the the reference wireframe uv unwraps that I link to below. There are two one for the Munny and one for the box. You can open these in Illustrator and/or Photoshop to use as a reference while you produce your design. Then when you are finished you will bring them into Blender and “render” an image of them on the box and on the munny.

What you submit to me, via posting on your blogs, will be four images. One texture for the munny, one for the box, and two renders from Blender (one of just the Munny and one of the Munny inside the box).

The necessary project files are linked below so you can just download them and get to work. The project due date is 19/12/08, on which day we will have in class presentations of each munny design.

Blender Basics

You will now notice that there is a new page called “Blender Basics” linked in the sidebar. This pages contains useful references for learning blender. As of this post, there are two hotkey maps and images of the controls we learned in the first Blender lesson.

Today, in class, we will be using the .blend file that can be downloaded here.
